JEHOVAH-NISSI

THE NAMES OF GOD

JEHOVAH-NISSI means GOD is the Victory Banner over me! Jehovah-Nissi is just one of the compound names of GOD-YHVH. Jehovah-Nissi also means that GOD is my Sail in the Desert. Deserts are hot, hot, and dry, and you are terribly thirsty in the desert of life! There’s not much water in a desert, and you likely will not see a boat in the desert, not even a life boat. But Jehovah-Nissi is my miraculous-life-giving GOD. He is my Sail in the Desert! Where there is a sail unfolding in the breeze, there is a boat and deliverance. Jehovah-Nissi will cause Living Waters to flow for me in the desert or in the wilderness. His banner over me is Love, and His names are the Covenant Banner over me for the devil to see that I belong to GOD-YHVH, and that JEHOVAH is providing for me in every circumstance of my life!

His name reveals Jehovah’s person and character. “Hallowed be Thy name” reveals that we should honor and respect GOD for all that is revealed to us in His names that we might walk in His promises. The JEHOVAH of the Old Testament is the JESUS of the New Testament, the Old and the New revealing Himself to us in all His magnificence!

COVENANT NAMES –
GOD’S BANNER of LOVE OVER ME!

I AM THAT I AM – God is a “Be-er” or “being.” So I Am continuing to be what I Am and always will be, yesterday, today, and forever! … Exodus 3:14

EL or ELOHIM – (Plural of EL) – “The Strong One”.
Jehovah Elohim – Creator and Benefactor, Sustainer.

JEHOVAH-YAVH – “the covenant GOD of mercy, who reveals Himself as the self-existing One.”

ADONAI – Master, LORD, Ruler, Bread Provider; Governor; Our Sovereign LORD … Genesis 15:2, Exodus 23:17

JEHOVAH-ELYON – “God is the Highest” – Most High GOD, possessor of heaven and earth…Genesis 23:10

EL-ROI – GOD of seeing – Genesis 16:13

EL SHADDI – “the self-sufficient One. The Breasty One.” “Provider of everything (Mother, father, brother, sister – all in ONE.)

EL ELOHE – GOD of worship. GOD of Israel (Jacob’s name changed to Israel).

EL-OLAM – “Everlasting One”. “The eternally existent One” … Genesis 21:33

EL-GIBBOR – “Mighty GOD, the Powerful One.”…Isaiah 9:6

ELOHEENU – Our GOD; ELOHAY – My GOD; ELOHEKA – thy GOD, the LORD our GOD is One GOD…the LORD JESUS.

JEHOVAH-JIREH – The LORD will see and provide …Genesis 22:14

JEHOVAH-Kanna – His name is Jealous (Exodus 34:14) He is jealous to keep us from the evil one.

JEHOVAH-MAKKEH – the LORD who molds me (or smites and crushes me into obedience for my sake to be conformed into His image).

JEHOVAH-HOSEENU- The LORD our Maker …Psalm 95:6
